Ownership of Listed Diamonds
All
diamonds listed on our Search Engine, are our diamonds, not like other on-line
sites who do not own any inventory and simply download "other people's
diamonds", including ours, to their websites.

Qualities of Our Diamonds
Our qualities range from D to K Color,
and from Flawless to I1 Clarity. We
specialize in fine to excellent
makes. Our diamonds are "finished"
properly. Our diamonds do not have "naturals"
or other blemishes. All of our diamonds, even the lower graded
ones, have polished and faceted girdles, adding brilliance to the
diamonds. (Back to Top)
Certification
All of our loose diamonds have Certificates issued by the Gemological Institute of
America ("GIA"). We also have diamonds certified by the European Gemological Laboratory
("EGL"). These EGL certificated diamonds tend to be of a
lower, more borderline quality than the GIA graded diamonds. The EGL does
have a reputation of more lenient grading than the GIA. In addition, the
GIA does not use the "SI3" grade so we find that some borderline diamonds which
would get an "I1" from the GIA (which would not accurately reflect the fact that
the diamond is clean to the unaided eye), will get an "SI3" from the EGL and
that this grade more accurately reflects the quality of that particular
diamond. With A.
Fishman & Son's diamonds, you can confidently
anticipate that you will get what you expect and not be
embarrassed or disappointed.

Fracture-Filled ("Clarity Enhanced") Diamonds
There is a sense in the consumer market place that a
"clarity enhanced" diamond is a better diamond than one which
is not enhanced. The word "enhanced" has been used to describe fractured
diamonds whose cracks have been filled with a foreign substance. The
fact is that the GIA will not grade or certify fracture filled diamonds.
These diamonds tend to be originally clarity grades in the I3 and "rejection" range.
The process is not permanent and there is a danger that the diamond will shatter
or break. (Back to Top)
A. Fishman & Son does not, and will
never, sell fracture filled diamonds!
